Stainless steel nickel plating process flow mainly includes pre-treatment, nickel plating process, post-treatment and other steps to ensure the uniformity, adhesion and corrosion resistance of the plated layer. The following is the detailed stainless steel nickel plating process flow:

Pre-treatment
Surface cleaning: use chemical or physical methods to remove grease, rust and impurities on the surface of stainless steel to ensure that the surface is clean and free of pollution.
Surface Roughening: Roughen the surface of stainless steel by mechanical or chemical methods to increase the roughness of the surface and improve adhesion.
Sensitization treatment: Form a layer of sensitive layer on the surface of stainless steel which is easy to oxidize, and prepare for the subsequent activation treatment.
Activation treatment: through chemical methods in the sensitized stainless steel surface activation treatment, so that nickel ions can be adsorbed on the surface.
Nickel plating process
Electroless nickel plating: Under the action of electric field, nickel ions are reduced to metallic nickel, which is deposited on the surface of stainless steel to form a plating layer. The thickness and uniformity of the nickel plating layer is controlled by controlling parameters such as plating time and current density.
Post-treatment
Thickness control of plating layer: Remove organic matter and impurities adhering to the surface of plating layer through desmear treatment, so as to improve the corrosion resistance of plating layer.
Plating Quality Inspection: Inspection and evaluation of the quality of the plating layer by means of appearance inspection, metallurgical microscope observation and electrochemical performance test.
Precautions
In the whole process, pay attention to replenish the consumed components in time, adjust the pH value, keep the air stirring, etc. to ensure the stability of the plating solution and the quality of the plating layer.
For stainless steel parts with complex shapes, attention should be paid to the covering ability to avoid affecting the uniformity of the plating layer due to poor covering.
The desmear and inspection steps in post-treatment are vital to ensure the quality of the plating layer and should not be neglected.
Through the above steps, uniform, dense and good adhesion and corrosion resistance of stainless steel nickel plating layer can be obtained to meet the needs of various applications.
